Pray for Baby Colton

As most of you know, baby Colton just turned one year old : )  He has been doing so well, but this past week he went back into the hospital.  PLEASE keep Rachelle (Jessup) & Larry Haus and their precious baby boy Colton in your prayers!  Pray that God will grant them all the strength that they need at this very moment and in the furture!  Here is a look at Rachelle's Facebook status' she's been posting this week.  This will give you a little bit of what has been going on and will help you to know how to pray for this family!  Rachelle is Aunt Marian (Shattuck) Jessup's youngest.

Thursday, Oct. 6th --"Colton was airlifted to Devos. I dont know whats wrong. He was breathing very shallow when we called the ambulance. He was unresponsive they had to put a breathing tube in. We are on our way there now. We did have a very good team working on him thougg. They were really nice."

"Coltons shunt is clogged. They are going to take him to the OR. But since he isn't responding they don't know if this will work. If it don't he may be on a ventilator the rest of his life. He don't respond to anything. Please, please pray. This all happened over night."

"Amy(Dr. Foodys PA) just came out and said when she tapped the shunt, she drained about 35 ml and when that pressure was released he moved his legs and his pupils are showing some reaction. They are going to do an echo to make sure there is not clot at the end of the tube. If there is they externalize it, if ther isnt they will do a revision. Thanks for praying. It's working. We are waiting to go back to see him. They are trying to get a line in."

"They just took Colton down for surgery. If its just the shunt not working they can replace it but if its working there is nothing they can do."

"Colton came through surgery fine. They said it couldn't have gone better. There was a block in the tube. Now were just waiting for him to wake up."

"Thanks to all who has been praying and who came to be with us today. We are in Coltons room. Still waiting for him to wake up and see how he breathes."

"Colton is starting to move a little bit. It's small movements but at least it's something."

Friday, October 7th --"Not a whole lot has changed. He does move when you touch him. He isn't reacting a lot to the flashlight. His CT scan showed that his brain is swollen and the ventricles are still too big. It's hard to see him this sick."

"I know I haven't put an update lately, but there hasn't been much change. We're still waiting for that miracle. We've seen it over and over. And I believe it will happen again. He did pull back his arm when I pulled on it a little."

Saturday, October 8th --"There's been no change. His pupils aren't dilating anymore. He still moves his food when you touch it. But he hasn't really moved his arm. I just feel so helpless. I wish I could just hold him and tell him everything will be ok. Last year around this time we didn't think he would make and God brought him through it all. I believe he can do the same this year.

"There's nothing more the doctors can do. We can either leave him on the vent and see if he comes around or we can take him off. The docs. dont think there is much hope. The only one that can help him is God."

"There’s a little boy on Facebook,
As sweet as sweet can be!
I’ve never even met him,
Yet he means so much to me…
... ... His parents named him Colton;
At times, his life’s been hard.
That life has been a blessing
To those both near and far.
He recently turned one year old!
His day to celebrate –
Instead, spent at the hospital,
His parents, they must wait.
The family is supportive;
They pray and give their love.
His Facebook fans are praying, too
To One Who reigns above.

“Lord Jesus, be with Colton,
And Rachelle and Larry, too.
They need Your comfort and Your love;
They know not what to do.
Just draw up close beside them now,
And help them know You’re there.
Please touch this precious little boy
With tender, loving care.
And when Your will is clearly done,
We’ll praise You once again.
For Colton’s life, You have a plan,
We thank You, Lord, for him.”

"I don't know how to thank all of you for the reposts and prayers. We really appreciate it. I am so glad that we have so much support. I don't think we could make it without you all. We love and appreciate all of you."

Sunday, October 9th --"I should clarify a little bit. The doctor didn't actually say we should take him off but the indication he gave was how long should we keep him on. He said there is nothing more that can be done. He did say though that he wants us to be completely comfortable with our decision. My gut tells me that it is not time yet. One of the nurses from the NICU told us last year and just today to let Colton decide when he's had enough.
